Privacy and how this site handles data
This is a publication rather than an application. There is no account to create, no form to submit and no personalisation, which removes most of the reasons a site collects data at all. This page states plainly what happens when a page here is requested.
What this site collects
The site sets no analytics, runs no tracking pixels and asks for nothing. There is no login, no newsletter form, no comment system and no contact form, so there is no field anywhere on this site into which a reader can type personal information.
Requests to the server produce ordinary web server logs, which typically record the requested address, the time, a response code, a user agent string and an IP address. Those logs exist for operating and securing the site. They are not used to build profiles, are not combined with anything else, and are not sold or shared for advertising.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. Nothing here needs to remember a reader between pages, because there is no state to remember. If your browser shows a cookie while reading this site, it came from a third-party resource described in the next section rather than from the site itself.
Third-party resources
Pages load a stylesheet framework and an icon font from a public content delivery network, and typefaces from a public font service. Loading a resource from another host means your browser makes a request to that host, and that host can see the request in the same way any web server sees a request.
Those services have their own policies, which this desk does not control and does not attempt to summarise here. The only reason they are used is that they deliver the presentation layer efficiently; nothing about them is used to identify or track readers of this site.
Outbound links
Entries link outward in two ways. Some links point at protocol documentation, block explorers and other reference material, which support a claim in the text. Others point at a commercial volume automation platform, and the sentence introducing those always states that the destination is a commercial product rather than a research page.
Once a link is followed, this site has no further involvement. The destination decides what it collects, what it stores and what it shows, and its practices are its own. Reading a page here does not send anything to any of those destinations; following a link does, in the ordinary way that clicking a link on any site does.
Email sent to the desk
Mail sent to the desk address arrives in an ordinary mailbox and is kept only as long as it is useful for the correspondence and for any correction that resulted from it. It is not added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list.
Nothing sent to the desk is published without permission, and reader messages are never used as testimonials or quotes on this site. If you would like a message and any reply deleted, say so and it will be.
Age
This site is written for an adult audience interested in market structure and is not directed at children. Nothing here is collected knowingly from anyone, of any age, because nothing here is collected beyond ordinary server logs.
Changes to this page
If the site ever adds something that changes this description, such as an analytics tool or an embedded service, this page will be updated to say so before the change goes live rather than afterwards. There is no version history to consult, so the page should be read as describing the site as it currently stands.
Questions about anything on this page go to the same desk address as everything else, and are answered by the people who run the site rather than by a separate function.
